Coffee Club V3 is taking orders.
The three coffee we'll offer in this box are the Honey Pink Bourbon w/Orange Peels + Tartaric Acid, Washed Yirgacheffe Aricha, and a Mixed Koji Caturra.
What'll be in the box is:
1x 120g bag of the Honey Pink Bourbon w/Orange Peels + Tartaric Acid
1x 120g bag of the Washed Yirgacheffe Aricha
1x 120g bag of the Mixed Koji Caturra
I'm going to limit this release to only 50 boxes to start. The price for each coffee box will be $28, but if you buy before April 7, I'll offer a 10% discount (code: COFFEECLUB-V3-10).
I may open up more once I fully figure out the scaled profiles. And if not, then I'll keep it at 50.
Business Stuff:
I'm going to be more goal-oriented with this release. Doing so will help me maintain focus on getting the desired outcomes, which should ultimately lead to a better experience for you all.
My goals for this release are:
Make 50 sales
Gotta have some growth. (double from 25)
Scale the roast profiles
If I don’t, then I’ll be roasting for ~25 hours. 🥲
Have two pop-ups, one in North Brooklyn and another in South Brooklyn
helps me provide a better experience for you, also helps me potentially grow this project
Beans:
For the newcomers, I exclusively roast light and mainly QA against percolation brew methods.
This bean is a citrus-forward bean with strong hints of orange. A friend described this as tasting similar to a blue moon.
This bean is light and fruit-forward, with hints of that yeasty sweetness. On top of its unique flavor profile, this bean was methodically processed as the producer, Wilton Benitez, applies a scientific mindset to his coffee -- using bioreactors to ensure proper environmental controls. Read more about the processing here to better understand what I mean.
This bean was sourced from an exporter that's local to NYC. Mizar Coffee came to me from @obscurecoffeeroasters, and I reached out and got some samples. This Yirgacheffe was my favorite of his coffee, as I found it had a nice mouthfeel with some juiciness. This coffee is more in the middle on the coffee flavor spectrum and provides a good base when paired against the other two.
Pricing:
If you order before April 7, apply the COFFEECLUB-V3-10 discount code for 10% off.
This box has again jumped up in price, and the reasoning for this is primarily due to this round containing more expensive green beans. Below is how I've come up with the numbers.
If you want more details, reference my post here and here about how I do my coffee pricing.
Pickup:
For this round, I'll offer both shipping and in-person pickup. You can decide which you'd like as you go through the buying process through my online store.
Like the past two versions, I will try and find a cafe to host me for an in-person pickup experience. One small change, though, I will try to turn the experience from just a "pickup" spot to a "pop-up" type of thing, and I will try to host two of them — one in North Brooklyn and one in South Brooklyn.
For South Brooklyn, I intend to host something with @villager_nyc. They have a gorgeous space, their staff is amazing, and my friends only have good stuff to say about them.
For North Brooklyn, I'm still looking. If you know of a cafe that would be interested in co-hosting a pop-up, let me know!
And if neither of those works for you, I'll have a day for people to pickup directly from my place — like the good ole times. :)
I'll release more information on the in-person events as I further figure things out.
Thank you's:
Not much has happened since the last post (5 days ago), but here are a few notable thank you’s
Brent/@purehappinesscoffee, for turning my project into a little mini-movie. Give the reel a peek. 👀
Ben/Villager for being open to doing a pop-up that aligns with V3
